Starport: A Star Wars Encounter

Starport in Discoveryland is a location where you can meet a Star Wars character. It uses the virtual queue system that you can read more about here.

This meet is often Darth Vader, but other characters are sometimes available, such as Chewbacca, you do not know though who you will get.

There is a Photo Pass photographer present. The characters do not sign autographs.

Queueing

The queue is mostly outdoors but is covered, there is one queue used for all, but the queue is step free and smooth with enough space to manoeuvre,

There is no seating at all while queuing. The area is quite spacious and in a relatively quiet area of the park.

Access

Access into the building is all level and very smooth. There is no loud music but Darth Vader can appear to summon you in which could give some guests a bit of a fright.

There is plenty of space while meeting the character and you can’t see anyone else waiting while you are meeting him so it feels very personal.

Comfort

There is no loud music, and because it’s indoors it’s a nice temperature and you can take coats off for your pictures if you want to.

It is quite a calm experience and it doesn't feel very busy or crowded, Darth Vader however can be quite intimidating, and he is unable to sign autographs.

Wheelie Good Score

This is a great option for Star Wars fan as the virtual queue removes the need to either wait in a long queue or to have to get a return time and come back.

To be honest the only reason to knock one star off is because I am personally not a big Star Wars fan and I found Darth Vader a bit scary!

For me this meet gets a wheelie good score of 4 out of 5!
