Disneyland Hotel
5 Star luxury with a regal princess theming
The Disneyland Hotel is the crown jewel of the Disneyland Paris hotels, and sits, literally, at the entrance to Disneyland Park. The location and proximity of this hotel to the parks is a massive plus and it is also the only 5 star hotel. It has a beautiful regal princess theme.
This hotel is described as the ultimate 5-star destination where everyone can celebrate magical stories and write their own. It reopened in January 2024 following a massive refurbishment so is fresh and modern while still retaining a very classical royal theming.
As with all the onsite hotels you get access to Early Magic Hour when staying here so you can access the Disney Parks one hour before general opening.
The hotel has a bar, a table service restaurant and a buffet restaurant, both offering character dining and a fine dining restaurant. The hotel also has a spa.
Introduction and Overview

Location and Park Access
From this hotel access to the Disneyland Park is within metres of exiting the hotel lobby, and only a couple of minutes walk through Fantasia gardens to reach the other park.
If being that close wasn’t enough on it’s own, this proximity also means you are already within the security area so there is no need to pass through security and bag check, another big bonus.
There is road access and a car park for this hotel, which also offers valet parking for all guests, although they do also have accessible parking available.

Hotel New York is a beautiful hotel, though some people feel it is not as classically Disney as other hotels. I personally love the theming, and always feel like it feels really modern and luxurious. However I don't stay at it as often as some of the others, mostly due to the accessible room layout of a double and bunk beds, which rarely works for me, and the higher price point!
All floors and all rooms are accessible by lift, and because it has a pool with an accessible shower this means that sometimes I can manage in a standard room rather than an accessible one, even with the standard rooms all having either baths or showers without shower stools/seats. The reception desk has a lowered desk that can be used to check in, and the public toilets in the hotel all have accessible cubicles, or a stand alone accessible bathroom.
The area around the hotel is mostly smooth flagstones and inside is a combination of very smooth polished tile floors and a very deep pile carpet in the corridors. There are two banks of lifts to the rooms so there is rarely much of a queue or wait for a lift, maybe a minute or two at most at peak times if you need more space in the lifts so need to wait for another one!
The doors to exit towards the park are 2 sets, both of which are automatic and are completely level thresholds, they are a dream to negotiate in a wheelchair! They take you directly from reception to the exterior without the need to go down a level like you have to at Sequoia and Newport Bay.
The hotel is also smaller than some of the others, particularly compared to Newport Bay, so it can also feel more personal and less overwhelming. It has a distinctive aroma which I really like but is noticeable when you enter.
General Hotel Accessibility
Empire State Club
Empire State Club is the club level at Hotel New York and comes with some additional benefits. The price difference between a standard room and club level will vary so only you can decide based on your own booking if it is worth paying extra but, some of the perks particularly useful with a disability, especially if you already plan to come back to the hotel during the day for a break/rest!
The Benefits of Empire State Club
There benefits can be split into room benefits, general benefits and the Empire State Lounge.
Room Benefits
The Empire State Club rooms are slightly different to standard rooms but not too dramatically:
- They are on the top floors and closer to the middle of the building, so generally closer to lifts
- There is a turn down service with the beds being turned down a little, a tin of infinity stone sweets left and a Marvel themed story card left
- They come with robes and slippers
- There are extra room types available, specifically a few different suite options, based on Spiderman and the Avengers.
General Benefits
- A separate, usually quiet, reception for check in and any queries
- Valet Parking
- The reception will take your luggage and take it your room on arrival day, and will collect it from your room to store it for you on your departure day (this is a really nice extra when dealing with a wheelchair and cases!)
The Empire State Club Lounge
The Empire State Club Lounge is a separate lounge area, located opposite the Superhero Station, which is available from noon on the day of check in until 11am on the day of departure, the lounge provides:
- Breakfast between 7am and 11am
- Non Alcoholic soft drinks and hot drinks between noon and 11pm, you can drink these in the lounge or takeaway cups can be provided
- Afternoon snacks served as a table service afternoon tea between 3-5pm
- You can also order drinks and snacks from the bar to be served here, but these are chargeable at the same price as at the bar.
Rooms
Standard (Superior) rooms at Hotel New York either have 2 double beds and sleep up to four, plus an infant, or have a large double and a sofa bed and sleep up to three adults, plus an infant. A travel cot is provided for infants and the beds cannot be split into singles.
They have air conditioning and include drink making facilities as standard, consisting of a kettle and a coffee machine (Lavazza Blue, if you want to bring your own pods, though they are replenished daily). All rooms have mini fridge's and they have in room safes, an iron and an ironing board. All rooms have robes and slippers (and if not in the room they can be requested).
Standard bathrooms have either a bath (though it has quite low sides) with a shower over, or a shower without a shower seat or stool. They provide shower gel, soap, shampoo and conditioner. These are replenished daily as required. There is a hairdryer and this is a separate plug in hairdryer which is much better than those available at some of the other hotels like Sequoia Lodge.
There is a large TV, disguised as a mirror. This is a modern smart TV and you can log into your Disney plus account (but you do need to use your own account). There are also accessible ports to connect using HDMI.
Electrical outlets are pretty plentiful, with a range of options including USB sockets, UK sockets and EU sockets, there are also USB ports by the beds. not as bad as at some Disney hotels but do have some limitations. I would still recommend bringing an extension lead and at least one EU adaptor though if you need to ensure devices can be positioned where you may need them.
While these non-accessible rooms usually have a bath or a shower without a seat the rooms themselves have been spacious enough to fit my chair into most areas, but it would not be possible to get a wheelchair close to the toilet in these rooms due to the bathroom layout. In some areas of the room it was a tight squeeze, particularly as there are little benches fixed to the end of the beds which adds extra length to the beds
Standard Room Tour Video
This video from Sam4G0d shows a room tour of a standard room with two double beds.
Accessible Rooms
Accessible rooms also sleep up to four plus an infant but they consist of one double bed and one set of bunks beds, to this layout can be difficult for many, particularly groups of adults.
The floor is part hardwood and part carpeted, and this is quite deep pile, but there is space to move around in a wheelchair. The bed is on legs with space to fit a hoist underneath (though Disney do not provide these, but can help with hiring them). The room safe and hanging rails can be reached and there is a lower level peephole in the door. The door itself is heavy and there is a wooden threshold.
There are no emergency cords. There are some plug sockets available but I would always recommend bringing an extension and multiplug, especially if you need items to be plugged in by the bed. Don't forget an EU adaptor!
The accessible bathroom is a large wetroom with a sliding door. There is a sink area with space to roll under, a raised toilet with a grab rail and a shower. Within the shower there is a fold down shower seat.

New York Boutique - Hotel Shop
This hotel shop has some impressive marvel items not found elsewhere in the resort and a heavy focus on Marvel items, with not many classic Disney items. It sells some pandora charms, and also sells a small selection of drinks and snacks, including cartons of milk.
You can collect the discovery quest prize here and they also sometimes have stickers available on request.

Gym and Fitness Centre
Close to the pool, details of which are below, there is also a fitness centre available. Towels are provided and there are showers, with shower gel, and toilets available.
Pool Information
Metro Pool Accessibility
Hotel New York has a Subway themed indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub which can be great for a break from the parks. The outdoor pool is not as big as the one at Newport Bay Club but still has loungers available and is relaxing in summer. The pool has step free access from within the hotel. Towels are provided at the Pool when you check in.
A self propellable pool wheelchair is available.
Pool hoists are available. The pool has stepped access, including a handrail, rather than a ladder. Some swim aids are also available.
There is an accessible changing room with a fixed bench, an accessible toilet which is spacious but doesn't have many grab rails and an accessible shower. Shower gel is provided.
You can meet characters in the hotel at the Superhero Station, which also features some unique photo props/scenes. The Superhero Station is on the ground floor by the Empire State Reception and lounge.
The characters you will meet here are all Marvel characters, so characters like Black Panther, Captain America, Thor, and Star Lord.
The meet is booked on the app and can only be booked by guests of the hotel, you can book a time from 7 days before your stay. Once you have used your first booking you can make another booking subject to availability. There is usually a photopass photographer.
For priority pass holders there is no need for anything separate as you have an appointment like with the virtual queue and there is usually only a short queue.
Character Meets

Dining Options
Hotel New York has two restaurants, Downtown which is an all you can eat buffet, and Manhattan which is a table service restaurant. It also has two bars, Bleeker Street lounge open during the day and Skyline bar open from late afternoon into the evening.
Downtown
Downtown is a buffet which serves breakfast and dinner. It is one of the most popular restaurants at Disney and can be the hardest to book as it is relatively small compared to other buffets. It can be booked on the app, but sometimes the hotel concierge can also help with a booking if you are staying at the hotel.. You do not need to book breakfast.
Breakfast (served 7-11am) has a wide selection and includes both hot and cold items. Gluten free bread and cakes/biscuits are available upon request and soy milk and dairy free spread are also available. I have also sometimes seen other milks available such as almond and rice.
The dinner buffet (open from 6pm) serves a range of foods, inspired by New York, so the buffet is split into three themes, Chinese, American and Italian. There is also a range of Marvel themed desserts such as macarons, Thor's hammer and a Groot mousse.
Skyline Bar

The Skyline Bar is a table service bar serving a range of themed cocktails, mocktails and other drinks and with a small food menu. Despite it's name it is actually located on the ground floor but has impressive 'windows' giving a view of the Avengers New York skyline. The food menu includes some snacks and some Marvel themed desserts and can be found on the Disneyland Paris App.
It's a classical bar, suitable for even Tony Stark, with exceptional cocktails, including a set of six themed to the infinity stones. And keep an eye out for the odd hero flying by the window!.
Manhattan
Manhattan is a table service Italian restaurant, serving a choice of a set 3 course menu, covered by meal plans, or an a la carte option. Fresh pasta is made here and dishes include meats, seafood and vegetarian and vegan options and while not as much choice as at Downtown the atmosphere is calm.
The restaurant itself features an impressive Asgardian inspired chandelier that also invokes the New York skyline,

Bleeker Street Lounge
The Bleeker Street lounge is a more casual daytime lounge and bar. It still sells themed cocktails and drinks like cold brew. It is inspired by a New York loft and features Dr Strange artwork.
It is usually open from around noon until mid afternoon, usually closing around the same time that the Skyline bar opens. It has some outdoor seating which is nice in the summer and once it has closed for the day you are free to use the area for seating, a feature I find can be helpful as somewhere quiet to sit for a bit and it also usually has some accessible sockets to charge mobility devices.
As this is a Disney Hotel it can be booked directly with Disneyland Paris, which is what I would recommend, especially if requiring an accessible room. Accessible rooms can't be booked online so you do need to call to reserve them.
You are able to contact the hotel concierge via email to arrange things like paid for in room packages and for help with restaurant bookings, they can also make a note of requests like to be closer to the lifts, but they cannot arrange accessible rooms, they must be organised through the main reservations team.
The email for the hotel concierge is DLP.NWY.GUEST.RELATIONS@disney.com and for guests staying Empire State Club it's DLP.NWY.EMPIRE.STATE@disney.com

Guest Reviews
"Hotel New York is a firm favourite for me, and if I could afford it all the time it would be my first choice. It always feels like such a treat to stay here, especially as I am a Marvel fan. I love the ease of access from the village and straight into the main lobby and I have had great experiences at both restaurants and both bars. The only thing that does annoy me is the bunk beds in accessible rooms, for the amount you pay for this hotel to expect adults to sleep on bunk beds seems absurd,"
