Disney Sequoia Lodge
Woodland and American National Park theming
Sequoia Lodge is a 3 star hotel described as a comfortable forest retreat inspired by the great American National Parks, and it is one of my favourite Disney Hotels. It is however currently one of the most dated and is therefore starting a refurbishment in January 2026, with the hotel remaining open throughout.
This hotel has a cosy forest vibe with cute, albeit subtle, woodland and Bambi theming. It is a 3 star hotel, the same as Cheyenne, but has a pool and also offers a club level, Golden Forest, with additional perks. Out of the onsite hotels I do think this hotel has the best pool, and in winter the hotel is especially cosy.
As with all the onsite hotels you get access to Early Magic Hour when staying here so you can access the Disney Parks one hour before general opening.
The hotel has a bar and a buffet restaurant open for breakfast and dinner.
Introduction and Overview

Location and Park Access
Sequoia Lodge is located on Lake Disney, it is slightly further from the parks than Hotel New York, about the same as Newport Bay and slightly closer than Cheyenne and Santa Fe.
There is a free, wheelchair accessible, shuttle bus to and from the bus station next to the train station by the main security entrance to the parks and village. This runs every 10-20 minutes, and while it will often take longer than walking it does cut out some of the walking if there is a need to conserve energy where possible. It's worth noting at the hotel there is no curb where the bus stops so the ramp can be steep and I would recommend having someone behind you when using it!
To walk to the parks you would walk over a bridge (a bit of a workout if self propelling but not too horrific!) and round the lake past Hotel New York. You would pass through the security point there and they usually have a priority queue at peak times, then walk through the village. The walk is well paved, well lit and mostly flat, with some opportunities to rest on walls and benches on the route.

While this is one of my favourite onsite hotels I will admit it can have some challenges that I have noticed as a manual wheelchair user, particularly if I am solo.
On the positives side all floors and all rooms are accessible by lift, and because it has a pool with an accessible shower this means that sometimes I can manage in a standard room rather than an accessible one, even with the standard rooms all having baths. The reception desk has a lowered desk that can be used to check in, and the toilets in reception have an accessible cubicle with the only drop down grab bar I have ever seen anywhere in France!
Almost all the common areas and the areas immediately outside the hotel are paved with irregular flagstones, which while pretty can be a little bumpy. The corridors to the rooms also have a very thick pile carpet that can also be hard work.
The doors to exit towards the park are only intermittently automatic, and when they are not they are very heavy, and awkward because there is two sets. Cast members have usually encouraged me to just use the fire exit door next to them when exiting and if I am with someone they often go in then open that door for me rather than us trying to wrangle the two sets.
To get from the main reception level to the restaurants and exit to walk to the parks you need to use a lift, which is very small. I do manage to fit in with my manual chair with a power attachment on but it's a squeeze and there can be a queue. However there is a path round the side of the building you can use to then access the main building through doors opposite the pool or go all the way around to the main front entrance.
General Hotel Accessibility
Golden Forest Club
Golden Forest Club is the club level at Sequoia Lodge and comes with some additional benefits. The price difference between a standard room and club level will vary so only you can decide based on your own booking if it is worth paying extra but I have tried both and did really appreciate Golden Forest, some of the perks were particularly useful with a disability! Having said that I have enjoyed many stays not at club level with no complaints.
The Benefits of Golden Forest Club
There benefits can be split into room benefits, general benefits and the Golden Forest Lounge.
Room Benefits
The Golden Forest rooms are not that different to standard rooms but there are a couple of differences:
- They are on the top two floors of the main building
- They have a small mini fridge in the room
- There is a turn down service with the beds being turned down a little, chocolate coins left and a Bambi themed story card left
- The rooms have different carpet, and the sheets have subtle little hidden Mickeys on them
General Benefits
- A separate, usually quiet, reception for check in and any queries
- The reception will take your luggage and take it your room on arrival day, and will collect it from your room to store it for you on your departure day (this is a really nice extra when dealing with a wheelchair and cases!)
The Golden Forest Lounge
The Golden Forest Lounge is a separate lounge area located in the main building which is available from noon on the day of check in until 11am on the day of departure, the lounge provides:
- Breakfast between 7am and 11am
- Non Alcoholic soft drinks and hot drinks between noon and 11pm, you can drink these in the lounge or takeaway cups can be provided
- Afternoon snacks served as a buffet between 3-5pm
Rooms
Standard (Superior) rooms at Sequoia Lodge either have 2 double beds and sleep up to four, plus an infant, or have a large double and sleep up to two adults, plus an infant. A travel cot is provided for infants and the beds cannot be split into singles.
They have air conditioning and include drink making facilities as standard, consisting of a kettle and a coffee machine (Lavazza Blue, if you want to bring your own pods, though they are replenished daily). They do not have fridges except in Golden Forest club rooms. They do have in room safes, an iron and an ironing board.
Standard bathrooms have a bath (though it has quite low sides) with a shower over. They provide shower gel, soap, shampoo and conditioner. There is a hairdryer but it is not very powerful.
The sink area is just outside the bathroom door which can be handy if one person is showering and one wants to use the sink to get ready.
Some standard rooms are in the main hotel building but others are in separate smaller buildings called lodges, the rooms themselves are the same.
There is a TV, but very limited channels and no option to log into anything like Disney Plus, and they are in a dresser so accessing ports to connect to another device could be difficult.
Electrical outlets are definitely a bit of an issue in this hotel. There are no outlets by the beds. There are two outlets by the kettle, one is used for a multiblock which does have some USB ports and different options. There is also an outlet by the door and there is one for a lamp, but this one does not work when the lights are turned off.
While these non-accessible rooms have a bath there is an option to request a bath seat. I have also found them to be spacious enough to fit my chair into most areas, but it would not be possible to get a wheelchair close to the toilet in these rooms due to the door to the bathroom blocking it.

Accessible Rooms
Accessible rooms also sleep up to four plus an infant but currently consist of two interconnected rooms. One room has one double bed and an accessible bathroom and the connected room has one or two double beds (they may be trying to make them all have only one double bed) and a standard bathroom.
The floor is carpeted, and this is quite deep pile, but there is space to move around in a wheelchair. The bed is on legs with space to fit a hoist underneath (though Disney do not provide these, but can help with hiring them). The room safe and hanging rails can be reached and there is a lower level peephole in the door. The door itself is very heavy and there is a wooden threshold, this can be difficult to manage alone depending on the chair as I need to pop a slight wheelie to get over this lip while also trying to hold the door open!
There are no emergency cords. There are some plug sockets available but I would always recommend bringing an extension and multiplug, especially if you need items to be plugged in by the bed. Don't forget an EU adaptor! There are no sockets near the bed and the socket used for the lamp doesn't get power to it when the lights are turned off.
The accessible bathroom is a large wetroom with a sliding door. There is a sink area with space to roll under, a raised toilet with a grab rail and a shower. Within the shower there is a fold down shower seat.

Accessible room tour
This video by Sam4G0d shows an accessible room at Sequoia Lodge, including the bathroom.
While this video is not a specific accessible room tour it does show the room quite well, although she did not book an accessible room, this was assigned to her.
Hotel Facilities and Services
General Services
The hotel has a 24 hour reception, and concierge services. There is also a separate reception for guests staying in Golden Forest rooms and suites. Priority passes, easy access passes and Bambi bands (for pregnancy) can be collected or requested from the concierge.
There is a manned luggage storage room (free of charge) and you can also use Disney Express (paid service) to transfer your luggage to or from the train station.

Northwest Passage - Hotel Shop
This hotel shop has super cute theming and sells a range of merchandise. It sells some pandora charms, and also sells a small selection of drinks and snacks, including cartons of milk.
You can collect the discovery quest prize here and they also sometimes have stickers available on request. At Christmas time you can write a letter to Santa here.

Quarry Fitness Centre
In the same building as the pool, details of which are below, there is also a fitness centre available. Towels are provided and there are showers and toilets in the building too.
Pool Information
Quarry Pool Accessibility
One benefit of Sequoia Lodge is it's indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub which can be great for a break from the parks. The pool is in a separate building and has step free access, towels are provided at the pool and all areas except for the slide can be accessed step free, with a lift for the few steps between the pool area and the hot tub area.
A self propellable pool wheelchair is available, however I have also been able to take my own manual rigid chair right up to the pool, but there is a sloped foot bath area to cross which is a few inches deep.
Pool hoists are available for both the main pool and the hot tub. The hot tub has a wide ledge around it to allow you to sit and swing legs over. The pool has stepped access, including a handrail, rather than a ladder. There are a few steps down to the pool from the entrance and hot tub area, and a platform lift is available, the steps have a handrail. Some swim aids are also available.
There is an accessible changing room with a fixed bench, an accessible toilet which is spacious but doesn't have many grab rails and an accessible shower. Shower gel is provided.
Many Thanks and Photo Credit to Liz of @lizneygodmother for the pool photos
You can meet characters in the hotel every morning. The meeting point is in the reception area, close to the shop.
The most common characters to meet here are Donald, Max, Goofy or Minnie. Minnie is usually in her classic polka dot outfit but the others have specific national park themed outfits.
The meet is between 8.15am and 11am. There is usually a photopass photographer.
For priority pass holders you can approach the CM with the character. Sometimes they will ask you to wait to one side for a few minutes, other times they may offer a return time.

Dining Options
Sequoia Lodge has technically two restaurants but these are essentially one and the same, in the past Beaver Creek Tavern was a table service restaurant but it is now used as an extension to Hunters Grill, serving the same buffet.
Hunters Grill
Redwood Bar and Lounge
Hunters Grill (and Beaver Creek Tavern at peak times) is a buffet which serves breakfast and dinner. It can be booked on the app, but is also often has last minute availability. You do not need to book breakfast.
Breakfast (served 7-11am) has a wide selection and includes both hot and cold items. Gluten free bread and cakes/biscuits are available upon request and soy milk and dairy free spread are also available.
The dinner buffet (open from 6pm) serves a range of foods, including salads, vegan options and desserts. It also has a focus on meat dishes, and in winter is well regarded for serving raclette.

The Redwood bar is a table service bar serving a range of themed cocktails, mocktails and other drinks and with a small food menu. The food menu includes some sandwiches and some desserts and can be found on the Disneyland Paris App.
It's a cosy space, with a mixture of seating options including sofas, tables and chairs and bar seating.
As this is a Disney Hotel it can be booked directly with Disneyland Paris, which is what I would recommend, especially if requiring an accessible room. Accessible rooms can't be booked online so you do need to call to reserve them.
You are able to contact the hotel concierge via email to arrange things like paid for in room packages and for help with restaurant bookings, they can also make a note of requests like to be closer to the lifts, but they cannot arrange accessible rooms, they must be organised through the main reservations team.
The email for the hotel concierge is DLP.SQL.GUEST.RELATIONS@disney.com and for guests staying Golden Forest it's DLP.SQL.GFC@disney.com

Guest Reviews
"Sequoia holds a special place in my heart, and is the Disney hotel I have stayed at the most. I always find the staff friendly and helpful and despite some access challenges I still go back as find it a great balance between price and facilities, I really like the hot tub! I am excited to see how the renovations turn out, even if I am nervous about changes to the accessible room layout."
