How to access medication while at Disneyland Paris

What to do if you need medication while at Disney

Forgetting to pack something, running out of something, or having an emergency can happen to anyone.

In France all medications, even ones we can easily buy in the UK like paracetamol and antihistamines, can only be purchased from a pharmacy, No supermarkets or other shops are allowed to sell any medication. It is always a good idea to pack plenty of anything you may need, but sometimes we run out or forgot.

If you need something like paracetamol while you are in the parks the first aid rooms are able to give a single dose, as they are staffed by trained nurses, but they can only give them to someone who is there and can only give one dose to be taken there. You can return for further doses, e.g. 4 hours later, but again this must be in person.

If you need more non-prescription medication - you will need to visit a pharmacy, the closest one is at Val d'Europe and the details for that are below. Things like paracetamol, ibuprofen and antihistamines can be bought without a prescription and they can also offer advice.

If you need prescription medication - you will need to obtain a prescription first for things like antibiotics. While the parks are open First Aid can again be a useful resource as they can help find and make an appointment with a Dr, or if needed a dentist. If you are in a Disney hotel and can't get to the parks or they are closed you can call reception, they can send someone from first aid to assess and can then also assist with finding a Dr or having one come out to the hotel.

Apothical Pharmacy, Val d'Europe

This pharmacy is the closest and easiest to get to pharmacy from Disneyland Paris or from the Hotels in the Val d'Europe area. It is located inside the massive shopping centre, and is the first store if you are entering the shopping centre coming from the RER station. Alongside the pharmacy it also sells things like first aid supplies and as is common in France, beauty products.

It is usually open 9am-9pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-8pm on Sundays, but please do check their website for any changes to this, especially around any French holidays.

How to get there

This Pharmacy is potentially walkable, especially if staying in the Val d'Europe area, from Disney it is a flat walk, on fully paved paths, and would probably take around 20-25 minutes.

If you have driven to Disney there is a large free car park at Val d'Europe.

You can also use the RER to travel the one stop from Disney, it is only a couple of minutes walk from the main exit of the RER (marked Centre Commerciale), when you exit the station turn right and walk along until you reach the shopping centre and you will see then Pharmacy at the entrance on your right. Find out more about using the RER here.

Alternatively an Uber or Bolt would cost around 10-12 euros each way.
